Our Team

Sharon Bortolotto, BID, RID
Principal/Founder

Sharon Bortolotto is the Principal and Founder of BBA Design Consultants, but what makes her tick? While the firm has garnered countless awards and been praised in print for more than 3 decades… What’s the skinny on Sharon?

Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Sharon received her Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) with honors distinction from the University of Manitoba. She spent the years immediately following graduation in Edmonton working with renowned architect Peter Hemmingway, among others. After four years there, Sharon relocated to Vancouver and began to make her mark on the West Coast design community where she also earned the professional designation of Registered Interior Designer (RID)

In 1985, following a year-long sabbatical to study the architecture and design of Europe, Sharon returned to Vancouver to establish her firm, BBA Design Consultants Inc. She remains an avid traveler and when not exploring the art & architecture of Europe, Asia and beyond… She can be found diligently working on her new knitwear collection!

Madeline Eng, DID
Senior Designer

Overseeing projects from conception to completion and meeting with clients and consultants are all in a days work for Madeline. Since 1996 she has been ensuring projects meet both their budgets and deadlines.

Madeline looks at creating an interior, utilizing light, form, colour and texture which gives her joy and the satisfaction of a career well-chosen.

The design process intrigues her the most, understanding each project’s needs and unlimited potential.

Traveling is her other passion; to explore and discover the culture, art, architecture, design and people to re-interpreted this essence into a new space. She is always planning her next trip as there are yet so many places to visit and to explore.

Kristine Anderson,  DID
Intermediate Designer

Kristine enjoys creating spaces that are not only functional for the end user but also appealing to the eyes.  She graduated from the Interior Design Diploma program at BCIT in 2007, and started out her Interior Design career designing high end residential kitchens & bathrooms, as well as Tenant Improvement projects, she then found a strong passion in designing Extended Health Care Homes which she did until she decided to stay home with her two young children.

After taking a few years break from the full time workforce, Kristine decided it was time to get back into the design world now that both boys are in elementary school. Kristine is excited that her new journey in Interior Design is with BBA Design Consultants.

Outside of her newfound office life, Kristine enjoys the great outdoors with her husband and very energetic two young sons. Hiking, backcountry camping, skiing, gardening, canoeing & kayaking are some of her outdoor passions. The other main one is enjoying time at their family cottage in Ontario.
